RESPONSES: DELPHI

I had just received all my grades for my last year in the public schooling system, and was checking my email to find a nice message from my friend Linas and a link to an article. I clicked it and… Suddenly my grades didn’t matter, they became instantly dull and overpowered by my joy. I called Mishki immediately, despite the late hour, and we spent a long time madly laughing and excitedly grinning.

This website has a full length article on Delphi, a Lithuanian news site!

Click here to have a look at it in all of its Lithuanian glory.

What’s more, Beardy and Ponytail commented about it! One of my personal goals in life has been reached, and Mishki is ecstatic too... Also of note is the fact that the day this article was published, we had over 6000 visitors to this site.

I stayed up until 3:00am trying to translate it, but my feeble attempts were thwarted by the fact the only Lithuanian words I know are "Kava" and the titles of Marijonas's songs (and some lyrics). The result was a piecemeal collection of words with lots of question marks... Thankfully, there was a saviour on hand.

Eternal thankyous go to Linas Jakucionis for this translation!

Success of our performers at Eurovision was not left unnoticed even in the remote Australia. 2 female fans have created a witty website, where the most attention is paid, according to them, the most handsome members of the six - Marijonas Mikutavicius and Viktoras Diawara-Vee.

Two art students named Erin and Mishki have created the web site http://www.loggods.com/beardvsponytail/home.html. They refer to it as "the most crazy/stupid website in the world about two Lithuanians". The girls claim that they have created this web site not because they did not like the members of LT United and not because they wanted to mock them. "This website will be either good or bad thing, but it only proves our love to them", it says on the website. By the way, the colors of Lithuanian flag are used on the website.

Came up with nicknames

Students say that the rest of the members of LT United are fantastic as well, but they like Viktoras and Marijonas the best and they would even like to transfer them from Lithuania to Australia.

The inventive girls named M.Mikutavicius as Beardy and V.Diavara as Ponytail.

The imaginative Erin and Mishki have created a lot of stories and poems that are fictitious and difficult to retell. It is possible to find drawings, photos and wallpapers depicting the performers.

<Translation of an excerpt of your limerics is provided here>, - such poems can be found on this strange website.

Created a Video

It is also possible to find animated video of the LT United song "We Are the Winners" created by the girls. The Lithuanian musicians morphed into miscellaneous sea creatures in the video.

Even though the song is original the Australains have created witty subtitles, where the words rhyme similarly to the original lyrics.

The girls claim that they have created the video in 4 days, but it is difficult to believe that as it is drawned and mastered very professionally.

M.Mikutacius, who learned about this page from newspaper LT journalists, told that he is hapilly surprised. "It's a pitty that the web site was not created by AC/DC members, who are Australians as well, nevertheless it very nice", laughed the singer. "Now I will only have to wait for an invite to Australia". In his opinion the girls who
have created the website are quite crazy (good sense crazy :) ), otherwise they would not be able to come up with such ideas.

V.Diawara-Vee have not seen the website untill the call from a newsparer L.T. journalists either. After seeing it he was genearous with compliments for the girls from Australia. "The website is very fun and funny. The girls have a great sense of humour" loughed the leader of the band Skamp.

Needless to say, Mishki and I are surprised, joyful, and generally blissful! This proves without a doubt that being completely mad can be a very productive thing.
